Is P4HB Right for Me?

  • Planning for Health Babies (P4HB) can help mothers in many ways throughout pregnancy and afterwards.
  • You may qualify and not know it, so make sure you're not missing out on the benefits!
  • There are multiple options within this program to get the best care for you and your baby!
Planning for Healthy Babies

There are great opportunities for Georgia mothers to access the care and resources they need before, during, and after pregnancy at little to no cost. Planning for Healthy Babies (P4HB) is one of our personal favorite, and it’s offered as an extension of Medicaid. In an effort to reduce the number of low and very low birth weight babies born in Georgia, Planning for Healthy Babies offers free family planning services to uninsured women along with access to birth control and so many other health services! The P4HB program is also a great way for mothers to continue to receive care after Pregnancy Medicaid coverage ends. Let’s see if you qualify for P4HB services!

Do I Qualify?

First, to be enrolled into a P4HB program you must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Must live in the state of Georgia
  • Must be able to prove U.S. Citizenship
  • Must be a woman able to become pregnant
  • Between the ages of 18-44
  • Fall within the monthly family income limits – must be below 211% of the federal poverty level. The federal poverty level varies based on the number of people in your house– click here to see where you fall. You also cannot qualify for any other Medicaid or managed care program. However, if you do receive Medicaid benefits you could be eligible for the Resource Mother service.
